It is completely reasonable to associate Obama with what his pastor says, and here's why...

Obama's Pastor: God Damn America, U.S. to Blame for 9/11:

Sen. Barack Obama's pastor says blacks should not sing "God Bless America" but "God damn America."

The Rev. Jeremiah Wright, Obama's pastor for the last 20 years at the Trinity United Church of Christ on Chicago's south side, has a long history of what even Obama's campaign aides concede is "inflammatory rhetoric," including the assertion that the United States brought on the 9/11 attacks with its own "terrorism." continue

My wife hipped me to this piece this morning, in the form of an email I found when I awoke. In the email, she points out...

--This is from ABC, not FOX or Rush or something. (One might wonder whether ABC would still report it as prominently during the general election, but that's another matter.)

--Then she wrote, "this is the pastor from the church Obama belongs to. He hasn’t disassociated himself from this church. People go to church/temple because they believe in the faith, and because they agree with what is being said in that particular house of worship. EVEN if Obama does disassociate himself from the church, it’s too late. The proof is in the pulpit!"

You know, she's got a really good point. If I had to listen to homilies that contained extremely incendiary rhetoric with which i disagree, I wouldn't last 20 days, let alone 20 years. I would find a new church.

In a campaign appearance earlier this month, Sen. Obama said, "I don't think my church is actually particularly controversial." He said Rev. Wright "is like an old uncle who says things I don't always agree with," telling a Jewish group that everyone has someone like that in their family.

Okay, even if we stipulate that "everyone" has someone in their family that believe the U.S. is to blame for 9/11, that doesn't mean that I go once a week to hear him speak. There's a big difference between the crazy uncle we tolerate at Thanksgiving and someone whose views we choose, of our own free will, to listen to every week for 20 years.

Unless, of course, I agreed with that crazy uncle.

His kids sat in the congregation and listened to that crap for any number of years. That alone condemns Obama.

Keep enjoying the Demo-train wreck, folks. Not only is it helping us on the issues, it's incredibly entertaining.

Can you imagine the media if John Mccain went to a church like this? This pastor is every bit as hate-filled as any Ku Klux Klan member I have ever seen on TV. I can't wait to see if this story has any real legs or not.
