Bill, I've just handed the South to the Republicans for fifty years. – President Lyndon Johnson talking with aide Bill Moyers right after the Voting Rights Act
Reagan’s vice president, George Herbert Walker Bush, succeeded him. In theory, he was a Southerner. It was just a theory. Bush was a Northeast Rockefeller Republican. It was true that he earned his spurs wildcatting the....

| Think that the Democrats are the only home for black Americans?
Don't believe the hype.
How much do you know about the civil rights history of BOTH political parties? Do you know who...
• ...conspired to preserve and expand slavery?
• ...created and preserved segregation, Jim Crow, and lynching?
• ...founded the KKK, and why?
For answers to these questions, and many others, read... One of the most amazing things you've never heard.
Is Lincoln's work truly finished? Is Emancipation truly complete?
Or, has a third plantation sprung up out of the ashes of slavery and segregation?
• Why do blacks still lag behind in income, standard of living, and even in life expectancy?
• Why are so many of our inner-cities places of poverty, despair and multi-generational dependence on the government?
• Why are so many children trapped in failing schools, surrounded by drugs, gangs, and violence?
• Why is there a slow genocide taking place in black America?
Why, after 40 years since the Civil Rights Act, have so many things gotten worse, when they should be getting better? Does this sound like freedom?
After Emancipation, some slaveowners refused to tell the slaves that they were free. Is something similar happening today?
We know---these are controversial claims. But like the original Wide Awakes in whose footsteps we walk, we're not afraid to take a stand, to tell the truth, and to fight for what we believe.
We have a vision of how things will be when true, complete freedom is achieved. We have a vision of how to get there.
And we want you to join us.
It's time for a change.
• It's time to break free from the bondage of economic dependence.
• It's time to end the captivity of ungovernable neighborhoods and failing schools.
• It's time to transcend the boundaries of cultural stereotypes imposed by the media elite.
• It's time to dissolve the bonds of presumed political allegiances.
• It's time to defy the institutionalized destruction of marriage and children and restore the greatness of the family.
It's time for freedom.

Bill, I've just handed the South to the Republicans for fifty years. – President Lyndon Johnson talking with aide Bill Moyers right after the Voting Rights Act
One by one, Nixon and conservatism was deconstructed. The Soviet Union was now thought to be a nation we had to respect as an equal. The term Cold War was made passé. Enormous shifts in attitude toward race, sex, religion, drugs, morality, and patriotism took place, seemingly taking on a liberal image. In the late 1970s, Sam Cunningham’s performance would have been given little credence in comparison with the protest...

Excerpt from One Night, Two Teams: Alabama vs. USC and the Game That Changed a Nation By Steven Travers Bill, I've just handed the South to the Republicans for fifty years. – President Lyndon Johnson talking with aide Bill Moyers right after the Voting Rights Act In 1964, the Democratic Party dominated U.S. politics. Lyndon Johnson defeated Barry Goldwater with 64 percent of the vote. He had enormous filibuster-proof majorities in the House and Senate. The imprimatur of John Kennedy’s legacy hung solidly on LBJ. A majority of America’s governors and state legislatures were...

By Burt Prelutsky When I tell liberals that I can’t figure them out, they tend to assume I’m owning up to my own intellectual shortcomings. They figure their thinking is so profound that it’s simply beyond the scope of little old me. Well, let them enjoy their fantasies. The truth is, I can’t fathom their belief system because it seems so divorced from reality that if we discovered tomorrow that, like the pods in the movie, “Invasion of the Body Snatchers,” liberals only look like human beings, but are actually from outer space, I’d be the one saying, “Aha, now it all makes perfect sense.” Back in the 1960s, the Democrats went in for social engineering in a big way. They concentrated...

We've been talking about this stuff a great deal as a part of the efforts of the New Wide Awakes....and yesterday, we got some assistance in disseminating some of these facts of civil rights history from a powerful source: Rush Limbaugh. He used a bit of ironic mockery and a lot of historical fact to "allay the fears" of the superdelegates vis-a-vis tossing Obama overboard in favor of Hillary...
