Possible October Surprise(s)?

What can derail Obama on his crazy-train ride to becoming America's Dear Leader President?

Well, the first point has to be that given the climate, he should be ten points out in front. After eight years of the media and the left cranking the permatantrum™, the ever-swinging swing voter should be ready to give in and give the tantrum-throwing baby whatever it wants. And yet, not surprisingly, they haven't yet fully bought the Obamaessiah.

Barack Obama is an appallingly bad candidate, and in most any other circumstance, he'd be way behind. Only in a year that should be a Democrat blowout is he ahead, and then by not nearly so much as a generic Democrat ought to be.

We all know the problems: He's a socialist, groomed by the hard-left for the job. (Americans, if fully aware of that fact, would never go for him in sufficient numbers, so he is relying on the media and those guarding his records (like the Annenberg Challenge) for cover. He's got plenty of problematic associations, including Wright Rezko, Ayers, Dohrn, etc. He's all wrapped up in Chicago machine politics, radical leftist politics, and, through his church, radical racialist politics. He's loust without a teleprompter, he's arrogant and—to anyone with a bit of discernment—kinda creepy. A culktlike following has developed around him that isn't normal, and that doesn't comport with the kind of thing that average Americans normally like. He's an awful candidate who wouldn't have a prayer of this weren't (allegedly) the perfect storm year for Democrats.

In other words, he is seriously vulnerable.

Perhaps the aforementioned problems will give McCain a little boost here, a little boost there, and that will be enough. But then, there is also the possibility that other things could come along to derail Obama's bid. We've been gathering notes on a few of them:

1.
Obama/ACORN/RICO/Fitzgerald

We'll start with the best one first.

For those who have been paying attention, it is clear that ACORN is committing massive vote fraud. Many will also know they've been doing it for many years. Many will also be aware that Obama has a long history—and current relations with—ACORN . . . including financial relations, if you get the drift.

But how many of us are aware that Patrick Fitzgerald is investigating ACORN under RICO laws and that "David Axelrod, Howard Dean, Donna Brazile, SoetorObama himself, and possibly even Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid were all involved"?

Tomorrow could be the start of Fitzmas: rumor in Chicago is Patrick Fitzgerald is investigating ACORN and SoetorObama campaign for RICO violations

Tonight we talked to someone who works in the federal courts here in Chicago.

The buzz in those corridors is that federal prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald has been leading a team of FBI investigators in 10 states working on a RICO case.

Today, it was announced that ACORN is being investigated in 10 states.

That’s one Hell of a coincidence.

We asked why Fitzgerald would be involved in this, because he’s the prosecutor on the Tony Rezko case and we aren’t aware of ACORN being investigated in Illinois.

We were told that ACORN was investigated in Illinois years ago, and it was a Fitzgerald case then. This means ACORN’s activities today, involving a conspiracy to commit multi-state voter . . .

2.
Obama citizenship lawsuit

This one is a wild card. If it has merit, it could do damage. If it doesn't, it might backfire in Obama's favor

3.
Rezko's talking

If a Republican had the kind of scandalous associations with Tony Rezko that Obama does, it would be much bigger news. it might have even undone said Republican. Now that Rezko is singing, will it undo Obama? Who knows? If Obama becomes president, maybe Rezko can hold out for a pardon. For that reason and others, this probably won't be enough, but it might add to the mud-weight.

Obama fundraiser, convicted of fraud, spills beans

Jailed political fundraiser Antoin "Tony" Rezko, the Chicago real estate developer who helped launch Barack Obama on his political career, is whispering secrets to federal prosecutors about corruption in Illinois and the political fallout could be explosive.
Democratic Gov. Rod Blagojevich, whose administration faces multiple federal investigations over how it handed out jobs and money with advice from Rezko, is considered the most vulnerable.

Rezko also was friendly with Obama—offering him a job when he finished law school, funding his earliest political campaigns and purchasing a lot next to his house. But based on the known facts, charges so far and testimony at Rezko's trial, there's no indication there'll be an . . .

4.
Obama/Odinga

This one is probably not too strong. America's thoughts are all about America right now, and they're not going to care much about Kenya. Still, it might be noteworthy to some people that Obama backed his Marxist thug cousin in the Kenyan elections.

New Evidence Proves Former Kenyan Barack Obama Coached His Marxist Cousin Raila Odinga During '07 Elections & Riots

In fact, Barack Obama designated a personal aide as his direct contact for the 2007 Kenyan presidential campaign of Raila Odinga according to Bob Unruh at World Net Daily. Documents obtained by WND also include Odinga's election plans that included stoking racial tensions and class warfare . . . (HT)

Probably won't go very far, but you never know. If it shows this is just another in a long series of dirty associations, it could add weight. This video, in fact, does that:

5.
Idiocy

Howard Stern, though a miscreant, has done us a service. One of his people went onto the streets and asked questions of Obama supporters, questions which indicated that they have absolutely no clue what either candidate stands for. It's actually embarrassing to hear . . . at least it would be if i were an Obama supporter!

Is this a real October surprise? No, not so much. We just added it here because it's funny, and because a cultural meme, it could have legs.

Or maybe, people will just realize that Obama will bring a thugocracy with him, and they'll finally realize how unpleasant and unAmerican that is. No matter how you slice it, there's some time between now and November, and this thing is FAR from over.
