Happy people vs. angry people.
A culture of life vs. a cult of death.
The good guys vs. the bad guys.
Let's start right away with the video of people chanting "Long Live Hezbollah" right here on Wilshire Blvd. in Los Angeles. Surely this is not what Emma Lazarus meant when she said "wretched refuse"...

• What the chant was supposed to be--video3
(Keep reading, I'll explain more later...)
As you will recall from my last photo essay on the July 7th anti-Israel protest and counter protest in Los Angeles, one of the first things one notices is the stark differences between the two sides. Well, yesterday's event was the same, only more so.
This took place in front of the Israeli Consulate on Wilshire Blvd. in LA. As before, the event was being run by the communist front group called International A.N.S.W.E.R. The event was much larger than the last one, and as you will see, it had much more of a potential of spinning out of control. With a few more people, I think it probably would have---and I fear the next one might.
"Israel likes killing kids."
Islamists just say the sweetest things, don't they?
Speaking of lies, the chant in this next video perpetuates a big, nasty one: "From Beirut, to Jenin, stop Israel's war machine." Jenin refers to the location of a so-called "massacre" of 3000 Arab civilians at the hands of the IDF. There was a battle in Jenin where 54 Arab militants and 23 IDF soldiers died, but there was never any massacre. It was just another lie pumped out by the Palestinian propaganda mill, but that didn't stop Western European media, from Thurso to Palermo, from reporting it as fact.
And the lie lives on:
Video: Beirut to Jenin
As with previous rallies, such as the July 7th anti-Israel rally and the May Day immigration protests, A.N.S.W.E.R. was clearly running the show.

Does she actually believe that socialism brings liberation? Are people really that stupid?
As with all such events, the Left comes with piles of propaganda. Oh look, it's Noam Chomsky up there in the corner. Well, birds of a feather...
The Left continues its unbroken streak of being on the wrong side of every major question of history.
These guys should know---they've been with 'em since the beginning.
Oh and look---one of them has a charming little button.
This fellow has been at all three of the rallies I have covered so far. He is always in a position of authority, directing protesters' movements or leading their chants. I guess this is what he does for work. I wonder what A.N.S.W.E.R. pays him.
Can't have one of these things without this butcher's face showing up somewhere. I guess the Left doesn't mind idolizing savage animals as long as they're handsome.
Israel targets terrorists and military assets. The IDF regularly loses soldiers because they use rules of engagement specifically designed to minimize civilian casualties, i.e., they send troops house-to-house when they could easily just bomb from their air.
Hamas, Hezbollah, Al Aksa Martyrs, etc. INTENTIONALLY target civilians. On buses. In schools. Places where they KNOW there are no military targets. That's what terrorism is---killing civilians to achieve an aim. For the terrorists, the more Jewish babies they can blow up, the more children who get rat poison-soaked nails in their brains, the better.
Anyone who cannot see the difference between those two has a broken moral compass... at best.
Added to the blood libels of old is a new wrinkle in Jew-hatred: equating them with the Nazis.
These people are damaged goods. What worries me is that they may be beyond repair.
I encountered similarly dressed youths at the May Day immigration protests. What is up with this new urban stagecoach tilter fashion statement?
Stand and deliver, or I'll hit you with my Che flag!
Bush Derangement Syndrome is pandemic.
More Jews-as-Nazis blood libel.
A blurry digital picture... or evidence that the dead have risen from their graves to march in the cause of evil?
Oh, I'm sorry---was that too mean? Gee, I guess seeing people marching in support of monsters who shout "Our God is Greatest" while slitting the throats of "infidels" has a way of making me testy. As does seeing people repeat old lies (and create new ones) to perpetuate the 2000-year-old tradition of Jew-slaughter.
Time to pay a visit to the good guys...
Not quite as many as the other side, but well-represented.
Their chants were not as crisp, either. But then, they didn't have professional rabble-rousers organizing them like the other side did.
"Stay hydrated!"
Great shirt! And totally true.
Seems a sensible notion...
So does that.
I've picked my side.
Speaking of sides, now I'm headed back to the other one...
Good thing, too.
Otherwise, I would have missed such cute little cartoons...
...and the newsflash that Israel is actually our enemy. Wow.
I know I keep on harping on the fact that communist front groups like A.N.S.W.E.R. and the International Action Center were running the show, but it's important. And just to reinforce the notion...
Look.
At.
the signs.
But see, now this is interesting. I promised I would explain a little more about those "long live Hezbollah" videos that you (hopefully) watched at the beginning of this post. Well, here it is...
You know the filthy little slur in the movie The Blues Brothers, when the neo-Nazi says, "The Jew is using the black man as muscle against you"? Well obviously, that is just the sort of disgusting thing a neo-Nazi would say, and obviously, it is totally false. That said, it is clear that the communists from A.N.S.W.E.R. really do use anti-Israel protesters and immigrants as muscle for the propagation of their overall Leftist agenda. But what the communist overseers of this anti-Israel protest plantation don't realize is that these Islamists don't care about them or their Leftist agenda. They are using them just as much as they are being used, and if the Islamists have their way, these lip ring-wearing neo-Marxists will be beheaded right along with the rest of us.
It may be hard to tell from the three videos, but I can report, having been there, that the chant the A.N.S.W.E.R. people were leading was "free, free Palestine, long live Lebanon." However, the further you got from the handler with the megaphone, the more you heard "free, free Palestine, long live Hezbollah" (eventually morphing into just the long live Hezbollah part over and over. Here are the videos (1, 2, and 3) again. What the A.N.S.W.E.R. people don't realize is that they don't have control over these Islamists, and they never will.
Sure, they'll take direction... but only as long as it suits them.
One of the directions they did take was very interesting. I personally witnessed the A.N.S.W.E.R. handlers intentionally directing protesters to cross the street... against the instructions of the LAPD. Prior to that point, the LAPD (and whatever other security were there) were preventing---or attempting to prevent---any mingling of people from the two sides. As is so typical, they were having an easier time preventing incursions from the more law-abiding pro-Israel people, so they exercised that authority with more vigor (like gun laws---only the law-abiding abide by them). They were less successful at preventing little incursions from the other side...

Video: Incursion 2
Still, they managed overall... until a huge clot of Islamists was sent over by their A.N.S.W.E.R. minders.
Video: Big Incursion
So many of them came at once that the LAPD realized trying to stop it would have caused a riot. So, they just tried to contain them in their new location. They were successful, but it did heat up the intensity of the two sides, now that they were separated by only the width of a side street, rather than by the whole of Wilshire Blvd.

One fellow arrived and had a rather stern rebuke for the other side:
Video: "No Way"
On the bad guys' side of that street, I caught some interesting things on video. One was an A.N.S.W.E.R. standard, where the leader chants "anti-and then fill in something bad in the blank," to which the group answers each time with the responsory, "anti-Israel." The fact that one of the fill-ins was "anti-rape" is pretty much just silly. But then, I noticed that the leader (a Muslim, not one of the handlers) had a crib sheet with a list of the fill-ins.
It's all here:
Video: anti-Israel chant, crib sheet
Seconds after, his friend saw that I was on to him and motioned for him to hide the sheet.
Eventually, the pro-Israel side moved the bulk of its crew back along Wilshire Blvd., essentially ignoring the Islamists on the other corner.
As things began to wrap up, the pro-Israel side demonstrated once again their joy and love of life, singing and dancing together. Like I said...
Happy people vs. angry people. A culture of life vs. a cult of death.
Video: Happy People
I myself was pulled into a dance by one fellow. I hadn't danced that particular dance since I was in the 10th grade and played the Russian ("Sasha," I think he was called) who danced with Tevye in the tavern scene in my high school's production of Fiddler on the Roof!
Look at all the American flags!
Needless to say, there was no such thing on the other side. No, the Islamists and their communist minders definitely have hatred of America very much in common.
But their hatred of America is matched by the pro-Israel folks' patriotism and love of America, be it their native or adopted home.
Video: God Bless America
Video: USA! USA!
You know, a frightening percentage of the world's population---possibly 10s or 100s of millions---would like nothing better than to see Hitler's final solution completed. Another large percentage of the world is anti-Semitic generally, though not particularly exterminationist. Another large percentage---mostly in Europe and on the Left---are de facto anti-Jewish, having waded into the historical stream of Jew-hatred through their anti-Israel positions. And another portion really just couldn't care less.
And yet, the Jews continue to be a strikingly hopeful and optimistic people. I don't understand Hebrew, but I know this is a song of hope.
Meanwhile, on the other side... anger, hatred, venom, and calumnies that are demonstrably false.
Happy people vs. angry people.
A culture of life vs. a cult of death.
The good guys vs. the bad guys.
Quite the contrast indeed.
