I loved this woman! She was standing up to the leader of the FMLN, and based on my rudimentary understanding of what she was saying, she was telling him that Jesus---NOT COMMUNISM---is the only way. At one point she begged me to tell him too!

Later, and off-camera, I told this kid that President Bush is actually pretty moderate on the subject of immigration. The kid was genuinely surprised and interested! For a few seconds, it actually shook his Weltanschauung. I'm sure, however, that once he returns to the indoctrination factories of the Left, they will once again retool his understanding of the truth.

In all the chaos (and it was swishifyingly chaotic), I think I missed the implications of what he said. My question was, "what are you here for?" Did he respond, "Support... votes, mostly"?
I have heard tales of Democrats registering voters at these rallies, and I am of course not surprised at all---they are the biggest electoral cheats and have been since Reconstruction. Is that what he was saying---that he was there to help register "voters"?

Great Photo Essay! Wow! Thanks for going into the belly of the beast and reporting honestly. I'm sort of fluent in Spanish, but I couldn't hear very well. However I believe the Sandinistas were chanting "down with H.R." Seeing as they didn't specify which HR they had a problem with, it's safe to assume they are against ALL house resolutions. Marxists tend to be against representative government.
What was really enlightening about the photos was the apparent lack of illegal immigrants at the rally. Out of 720,000 people there, I'm willing to bet that fewer than 1,000 were actual illegal immigrants/day laborers. The rest was just a hodgepodge of the left. Fascinating!

Well, I'm not sure. If it was 719,000 Lefties, a great number of them were of hispanic descent. You are probably right that a lot of the day laborers were at their jobs that day, and I certainly have no idea what the legal/illegal status of the people there was... and the Left was ALL OVER this thing. Just not sure about the numbers.
As far as the Spanish goes, thanks for the word. I was actually getting the parts that the leader was saying---it was the responsory bits that I didn't catch...
